Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) has stated that the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure is yet to send the final list of recipients for the 4,000 flats announced under the Gedhoruveriyaa Scheme.

In response to a question submitted on May 19 under the Right to Information Act, the Corporation said that the towers containing 4,000 housing units being developed in the second phase of Hulhumalé will be handed over once the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure publishes the final list.

At a press conference held regarding the work carried out during the complaint period after the verification of the 4,000 flat list, Minister of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure Abdulla Muththalib said that flats would be given to all eligible applicants. He also said that the ministry would officially inform those who are found to be ineligible and give them the opportunity to appeal.

The minister said that day that they would proceed with the agreement signing phase with flat recipients in June, hand over the first 1,000 completed flats, and work to make them habitable by July. He also said that the remaining flats would be handed over to their rightful owners before the end of September.

Out of the 32 towers containing 4,000 flats being developed in Hulhumalé under the Gedhoruveriyaa Scheme of the previous administration of former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, eight towers have now been handed over to Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation.
