Maziya secures AFC Club license
Maziya stands tall as the sole bearer of the prestigious AFC Club License for 2025, reaffirming their unwavering pursuit of excellence. Their consistent adherence to AFC's stringent standards resonates with determination and professionalism.

Maziya Sports and Recreation from the Maldives has obtained the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Club License.

Maziya Sports and Recreation Club has once again distinguished itself as the only Maldivian team to secure the AFC Club License for the 2025 season. This marks the second consecutive year that Maziya has solely represented the Maldives in meeting the Asian Football Confederation's stringent licensing criteria.

The achievement underscores the club’s consistent commitment to professional standards across sporting, administrative, and infrastructural domains, as required by the AFC's club licensing regulations.

The AFC grants club licenses only to teams that meet the organization's strict criteria and professional standards. In previous years, several clubs from the Maldives successfully obtained the AFC Club License.

AFC evaluates a wide range of criteria, including infrastructure, governance, finance, and youth development, when issuing club licenses. This year, Maziya Sports and Recreation Club was the only team from the Maldives to meet those standards and secure the coveted AFC Club License.

Meanwhile, domestic football in the Maldives has faced a prolonged hiatus, with the national league suspended for over a year. The Football Association of Maldives (FAM) has announced plans to resume the football season in August, signaling a long-awaited revival of local competition.

In response to the delayed start of the domestic football season, FAM organized an interim competition, the FAM League Cup. The tournament featured five teams, with Maziya Sports and Recreation Club emerging as champions.

Maziya delivered a dominant performance throughout the competition, winning five of their six matches and drawing one.

In addition to their domestic success, Maziya also represented the Maldives in the AFC Challenge League last year, further solidifying their status as one of the country’s top clubs.
