The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has stated that they did not incur any expenses for President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's trip to Liverpool, United Kingdom.
MMPRC made this statement in response to a Right to Information (RTI) request submitted by RaajjeMV at the President's Office, seeking clarification on how much the corporation spent on the President's trip to Liverpool.
In a response letter signed by MMPRC's CEO and Managing Director Ibrahim Shiuree and sent to RaajjeTV, it was stated that under the Right to Information Act, no expenses were incurred by the corporation for the president's trip to Liverpool on 10 April 2025.
Although the current administration has claimed there would be no concealment, deception, or secrecy in any matter, many people are saying that things are not appearing that way. They say that what is being seen is an attempt to hide and deceive the public even about the most ordinary matters.
President Muizzu departed for the United Kingdom on April 1. He returned to home on April 5 after concluding his trip.
The President's Office had stated that the purpose of the president's trip to Liverpool was to participate in the launching of a co-brand campaign activity conducted in collaboration with Liverpool Football Club (Liverpool FC) and the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) or Visit Maldives to promote the Maldives’ tourism.
