WAMCO triumphs over Police to claim National Volleyball League title
In addition to this year's National Tournament, WAMCO also won the VAM Cup. WAMCO won both these tournaments by defeating Police Club.
Club WAMCO wins national volleyball tournament
WAMCO Club has claimed the championship title of the National Volleyball League organized by the Volleyball Association of Maldives (VAM).
In the tournament contested between four teams, WAMCO Club secured a spot in the final by winning all three of their matches. Police Club earned their spot in the final by winning their semi-final match.
In the final match played on Sunday night at the indoor court of the Youth Center, WAMCO won by three sets to two.
Police Club won the first set of the match 25-23. However, WAMCO won the second set 25-22.
The third set also saw competitive play, with Police Club pulling ahead at the end to win 25-23. In the fourth set, WAMCO displayed good performance and went on to win the set 25-18.
With both teams tied in sets, the fifth and deciding set was won by WAMCO 15-08. The player of the match was awarded to WAMCO's foreign player.
In addition to this year's National Tournament, WAMCO also won the VAM Cup. WAMCO won both these tournaments by defeating Police Club.
However, in this year's National League, Police managed to push WAMCO back and claim the league championship.
