Hamdhy Ageel, the President of the Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB), has been dismissed from his position.
This has been confirmed to some media outlets by Heena Waleed, the chief spokesperson of the President's Office. However, the reason for his dismissal has not been disclosed.
According to information received, Hamdhy and the Speaker of the Parliament, Abdul Raheem Abdulla, are known to have a close relationship.
There have been rumors circulating that individuals close to Abdul Raheem are being removed from their positions.
Hamdhy of Henveiru Rangali 4 was appointed to the position of PCB Board President on 22 November 2023.
Hamdhy holds a Master of Commerce degree from Curtin University in Australia. His previous positions include Managing Director of Fuel Supply Maldives and Managing Director of Maldives Road Corporation.
