President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has vowed to resume the halted water and sewerage project in Nilandhoo island of Gaaf Alif atoll.
He said this during a meeting with the island community.
The president assured that he would also find a solution to the harbor issue that meets the expectations of the people, and that he would bring an end to the issue of coastal erosion as well as the stalled water and sewerage project. In addition to this, he pledged to develop a multipurpose hall at Nilandhoo School, fulfilling a pledge he made during his campaign.
Further, the president assured that under the policy of transforming health centers into service-providing facilities, he would expand health services in Nilandhoo as well.
The president stated that the government's aim is to strengthen the management of the agricultural industry.
He also highlighted that the government has begun efforts to produce food locally to meet the country's needs and is working on attracting investors for this purpose.
The president emphasized that agriculture is an area of great focus when it comes to diversifying the Maldivian economy. Therefore, the president highlighted that farmers in Nilandhoo, and across the Maldives in general, would be able to profit from their agricultural products.
