The Maldivian president has condemned the violent attack on former President of the United States of America, Donald J. Trump.

Taking to social media platform ‘X’ on Sunday, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu stressed that violence has no place in politics and that he strongly condemns all forms of violence “everywhere”.

The president, on behalf of the government and people of Maldives, offered thoughts and best wishes to the former U.S. president, his family, and others injured during the attack.

Thousands of rallygoers were gathered at the rally held in Butler, Pennsylvania when the attack on Trump unfolded.

A gunman opened fire from a nearby building on the Republican presidential candidate, who fell to the stage after the shots rang out.

Trump stated that he heard the whizzing of a bullet that ripped through his ear and was seen with blood gushing from the side of his face.

Secret service agents at the event enveloped Trump and escorted him away from the stage and rushed him to the hospital.

U.S. authorities are presently investigating the attack on Trump, as an assassination attempt.

International media has reported that trump is currently safe and had attained injuries to his ear.

While Muizzu has said that there is no place for violence in politics, the government has come under fire for the massive delay in banning Israeli passports, as Israel continues to inflict inhumane atrocities against the innocent people of Palestine.
