The cybercrime awareness programme conducted in Kudafari island
An awareness programme has been conducted regarding cybercrimes, in Kudafari island of Noonu atoll.
The programme was carried out for Kudafari School employees, students as well as parents.
It was a joint initiative by the Maldives Police Service (MPS) Cyber Center and the Kudafari Police Post from June 30 – July 1.
Information on how to protect and avoid cybercrimes or illegal activities on the internet, were provided to participants, as part of the programme.
As part of the programme for school students, they were briefed on how to protect themselves from exposure to illegal activities and crimes on the internet.
They were also provided thorough instructions as well as precautions to be careful while browsing the internet, and what to do when and if something happens.
The programme also saw school employees and parents briefed on the latest scams and tricks being used to make money through fraudulent means and how to avoid such scams on the internet.
