A man wanted in connection with a case of fraud, has been summoned.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that the case is being investigated by the Hulhumalé Phase II Police Station.
The man is allegedly involved in a case of fraudulently acquiring money from a person.
In a publication on Sunday, the police institution revealed that the summons notice was publicized as the authority’s efforts to locate the suspect and handover his summons notice have been to no avail so far, and as the MPS has been unable to track him down.
The summons was issued in accordance with section 27 of the Code of Criminal Procedure to be followed by the police while investigating criminal cases.
Summoned is Thalhath Wafir, 49 and native to Fuvahmulah City.
Police revealed that the suspect is summoned for questioning regarding the case.
The suspect is to present himself to the Hulhumalé Phase II Police Station or the police station closest to him at 11am on May 26.
