An arrest has been made in a drug operation conducted in Hulhumalé Phase II.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) in a press statement issued on Tuesday revealed that the operation stemmed from an intel report that drugs were being trafficked inside an apartment in Hulhumalé Phase II.
A 38-year-old Maldivian man was arrested in connection with the case.
The operation was conducted jointly by the Drug Enforcement Department (DED) and the Police Intelligence Unit on May 6.
During the court-ordered raid, officers confiscated 18 plastic cups filled with suspected narcotics.
Upon being presented to the Criminal Court for his remand hearing, the 38-year-old was given 15 days behind bars.
The case is under further investigation by DED.
