President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has pledged to deliver the development people desire.
He said this while speaking to residents of Isdhoo island and Kalaidhoo island of Laamu atoll, as part of his recent tour across the atoll which he commenced on Thursday morning.
Taking the podium at the event, the president highlighted that he is committed to deliver the progress desired by the people, including infrastructure projects, road building, land reclamation, sanitation initiatives, and economic ventures.
The president noted that the government would consult with the residents of Laamu Atoll before deciding to construct a second airport in Laamu atoll.
Highlighting that the development projects he has envisioned would prioritize the Isdhoo-Kalaidhoo constituency, the president briefed them on the upcoming project he has planned for the progress of the atoll’s tourism.
The president shed light on the positive impacts these initiatives will have on the communities and added that these projects will generate more job opportunities and boost income levels.
Encouraging the island communities to provide support to the government in its efforts towards community development, the president pledged to prioritize the realization of development goals desired by the people.
