Council members of Meedhoo island of Dhaal atoll have urged the administration to implement a road development initiative, with the inclusion of a proper drainage system.
This was done during a meeting President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu held with the island’s council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) members on Tuesday.
Councilors stressed that the biggest concerns facing their community presently is housing.
In addition to this, they discussed the need for proper electricity, water, and sanitation services for the newly reclaimed area, the significance of waste management services, a modernized children’s park, boosting the fisheries sector as well as other social issues facing the community.
The meeting also saw WDC members stressing the need for a designated swimming area on the island.
