A stash of alcohol has been discovered in Mulah island of Meemu atoll.
Acting on a tip-off about the smuggling of alcohol into the island, police officers stationed in Mulah launched an operation during which they confiscated several bottles of alcohol and took them into their custody.
The operation was conducted jointly by officers stationed on the island and officers of the Police Intelligence Unit on February 29.
As part of the operation, officers confiscated 20 bottles of alcohol stashed inside a box hidden near the island’s harbor region.
No arrests have been made in connection with the operation, yet.
However, further investigations are currently underway.
