Discussions have been held on the key concerns facing the development of Rathafandhoo island of Gaaf Dhaal atoll.

This was done during a meeting President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu held with members of the island council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) on Tuesday, as part of his tour of some islands in the south of Maldives which he began on Sunday morning.

During the meeting held at the secretariat of the Fiyoaree council, Rathafandhoo councilors shed light on the most urgent concerns of the island community including the collapsing of the health center building, lack of space at the council secretariat as well as the island harbor, lack of access to proper medication, the need for mosque renovations and resources for youth development.

Rathafandhoo councilors went on to express concern over the delay in constructing an ice plant on the island.

Listening to these concerns, the president highlighted that the administration would pay close attention to the issue raised and ways to tackle them.

Further, the councilors were briefed by some of the Cabinet Ministers accompanying the president on the tour, on the course of action in response to the issues raised at the meeting.
