The land reclamation and shore protection project initiated in Ungoofaaru island of Raa atoll, is progressing well.
This was revealed by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) on Wednesday.
As such, taking to social media platform ‘X’ to provide the latest updates of the Ungoofaaru land reclamation and shore protection project to the public, MTCC revealed that the project is well underway.
Currently ongoing is the dredging and reclamation component of the project, which has reached 63 percent progress.
Under the scope of the project, MTCC will be conducting reclamation operations in an area spanning 10 hectares.
The project also entails the construction of a rock boulder revetment measuring 838.60 meters and a rock boulder groyne measuring 75 meters.
The Ungoofaaru land reclamation and shore protection project is valued at MVR 71.08 million.
