An expatriate has succumbed to injuries attained after a fall from a building in the congested capital city of Maldives, Malé.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that they received reports of the incident at around 10:30am on Tuesday.
The man, identified as a 20-year-old Indian man, fell down the elevator shaft, from the ninth floor of a building located on Chaandhanee Magu.
The police institution dispatched a team to the scene shortly after.
The man was rushed to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for treatment.
MPS initially cited doctors at the hospital who said that the man was being treated for serious injuries and that he was in critical condition.
The police institution revealed that he had fallen from the ninth floor, all the way to the ground.
He was later pronounced dead on Tuesday afternoon.
