The governments of Maldives and India have agreed that India would withdraw the military personnel in one of the three aviation platform by 10 March 2024.
The agreement was reached during the second meeting of the high-level core group between the Maldives and India.
The meeting was held at the Ministry of External Affairs, in New Delhi on February 2.
The governments of Maldives and India reviewed the existing bilateral cooperation for improving and enhancing the partnership in the fields of defence and security cooperation, economic, and development partnership, during the meeting.
As such, both sides agreed that the Indian government would replace the military personnel in one of the three aviation platforms by 10 March 2024.
The neighboring country’s government will complete the process of withdrawing military personnel from the other two platforms by 10 May 2024.
Both sides agreed to convene for the third meeting of the high-level core group between the Maldives and India in Malé City.
The meeting will be held on a mutually agreeable date during the last week of February.
