Two individuals have been arrested in Hanimaadhoo island of Haa Dhaal atoll, under allegations of drug trafficking.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that an operation was conducted on January 25, after the institution was tipped off on drug trafficking efforts.
A house was raided under a court order as part of the operation.
Arrested in connection with the operation were a 38-year-old and a 42-year-old.
Both suspects are Maldivian men.
Upon being presented to the Hanimaadhoo Magistrate Court for their remand hearing, one of them was remanded for a five-day period and the other was given 15 days in remand.
The case is being investigated by the police institution, currently.
