The day of the presidential address will no longer be a public holiday.

This was announced by the President’s Office on Thursday.

As such, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu declared the day the president delivers his presidential address at the People’s Majlis a non-holiday on Thursday.

This will be observed every year and comes in accordance with Article 84 of the Maldives Constitution.

A decree was issued on Thursday declaring the day of the presidential address a non-holiday.

According to the decree, the President's Office has repealed the previous decree, No. 4/2019.
