The charge of the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Welfare has been temporarily handed over to the Minister of Defence.
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu temporarily handed over the charge of the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Welfare to Defence Minister Mohamed Ghassan Maumoon on Saturday.
This comes after Minister of Agriculture and Animal Welfare Dr. Aishath Rameela headed abroad on leave, on November 23.
The President’s Office revealed that the oversight of the ministry was entrusted to Minister Ghassan temporarily, until she returns.
Dr. Aishath Rameela left the country for cancer treatment.
In a post on social media platform Facebook, Dr. Rameela stated that she was going abroad for chemotherapy and radiation treatment, as she is suffering from cancer.
Dr. Rameela came to know about her ailment at the last stage of cancer.
