Discussions have been held on enhancing the bilateral relations between Maldives and Pakistan.
The discussions were held during a meeting held between President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and the eighth Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar.
The meeting was held at the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Saturday, on the sidelines of the 28th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28).
The meeting saw Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan congratulating the Maldivian leader on assuming office as the eighth president of Maldives.
He went on to express keen interest in enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries during his newly inaugurated term.
President Muizzu and the Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan further engaged in discussions regarding mutual interests and shared values and explored areas for future cooperation.
The two leaders also expressed mutual commitment to work together, to fulfill the Maldivian leader’s pledge to plant five million trees in the Maldives.
