The Secretary-General of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), Golam Sarwar has paid a courtesy call on President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
The meeting took place at the Presidential Office, on Sunday.
During the meeting, the President welcomed the Secretary-General and expressed gratitude for accepting the invitation to the Presidential Inauguration ceremony held on Friday evening.
In response, the Secretary-General thanked President Dr. Muizzu for the invitation and congratulated him on his assumption of office. He praised the President's Inaugural Address as powerful and inspiring, expressing confidence in the bright future of this administration.
The President and the Secretary-General also discussed about the significance of collaboration among SAARC members for the development of regional countries. They stressed the importance of addressing challenges through meaningful engagement with other SAARC members.
President Dr. Muizzu assured the Secretary-General, of Maldives' full support and commitment to strengthening the existing relationships among SAARC member states.
