A manhunt has been launched for a man accused of fraud.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that the man is being sought in connection with a case submitted at the Criminal Court.
The Criminal Court has issued an order to the police institution to locate the man, take him into custody and present him before court.
The court’s efforts to locate the man have been to no avail so far, with which the publication was made on Thursday.
Being located is Ibrahim Shafeeq, 40 and native to Dhidhdhoo island of Haa Alif atoll.
Shafeeq is wanted in connection with accusations of engaging in fraudulent activities.
The suspect is to be taken into police custody and presented before court at 11:15am on November 19.
The public has been urged to contact the MPS Custodial Department through 9991442 if any information regarding the whereabouts of the man, is attained.
The police institution took the opportunity to express gratitude to the public for the immense support and assistance extended in connection with such cases.
