The government of Maldives has condemned the Israeli air raid on the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza Strip, on Tuesday.

In a statement publicized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, strongley condemned the Israeli air raid on the Jabalia refugee camp and noted that this attack took the lives of many innocent Palestinians, including many children, leaving dozens injured.

The statement further said that the Government of Maldives considers the attacks and inhuman acts committed by the ruthless state of Israel against civilians to be in violation of international human rights law.

The government also called Israel to stop the attacks against innocent Palestinian civilians and on the international community to do everything possible in accordance with the UN General Assembly resolution adopted on October 27.

The statement also called to further strengthen efforts to provide humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people without any hindrance.

According to a medical professional and Palestinian officials in the confined area, dozens of civilians were killed in the Israeli air raid on the Jabalia refugee camp.

Reports shows that Israel dropped six highly destructive bombs, each of them weighing 1 ton, on Jabalia refugee camp on Tuesday, and initial number of victims was estimated at 400. The occupation completely destroyed a residential neighborhood in the middle of the camp, and people are still stuck under fallen buildings.

It has also been reported that the Israeli military has bombed the Jabalia refugee camp again on Wednesday, as well.

The largest number of victims of the attacks on Jabalia refugee camp are women and Children.

Israel continues to pound the Gaza Strip, killing approximately 9,000 Palestinians, including over 3,500 children, since the fighting began on October 7.
