The harbor development project in Milandhoo island of Shaviyani atoll is progressing well.
This was revealed by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) on Sunday.
As such, taking to Twitter to provide the latest updates of the Milandhoo harbor development project, MTCC revealed that the quay wall block installation component was completed recently.
Currently ongoing at the project site is the quay wall concrete work component of the project.
MTCC revealed that the new harbor basin dredging component has reached 26 percent completion so far.
Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to conduct maintenance dredging operations in an area spanning 17,900 cubic meters, new harbor basin dredging operations measuring 72,938 cubic meters and channel dredging operations in an area measuring 8,400 cubic meters.
The construction of a breakwater measuring 583 meters, a quay wall measuring 316 meters, a revement measuring 93 meters and a groyne measuring 25 meters also comes under the scope of the project.
The project also entails the construction of two bridges, a jetty measuring 130 meters by two meters and an access platform.
MTCC will also be installing a pavement measuring 3,863 square meters, harbor lights and navigational lights as part of the project.
The Milandhoo harbor development project is valued at MVR 76.44 million.
