A Maldivian man has drowned off a resort near Dhuvaafaru island in Raa atoll.
RaajjeMV understands that the man drowned off a resort near Dhuvaafaru island, while out at sea, snorkeling on Sunday.
The Dhuvaafaru island resident has been identified as Ismail Moosa, 51.
He reportedly died while trying to snorkel near a resort near Dhuvaafaru.
He was taken to Ungoofaaru Hospital at around 2:15pm on Sunday and was pronounced dead upon arrival, according to an island resident who cited doctors at the hospital.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that they received reports of the man drowning off You & Me Resort by Cocoon Maldives in Raa atoll and being taken to the hospital.
The incident was reported to the authorities at around 2:12pm on Sunday.
