Interim results shows that 244,889 people voted in the election

Presidential candidate of People's National Congress (PNC), Dr. Mohamed Muizzu is the new president-elect of the Maldives.

Dr. Muizzu secured 52.24 percent votes with 127,927 votes.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih secured 44.62 percent votes with 109,261 votes.

The second round of voting in this year’s presidential election took place from 8am to 5pm, on Saturday.

Interim results shows that 244,889 people voted in the election, with 585 ballot boxes out of 586 ballot boxes counted. A total of 282,804 were eligible to vote in this election

This included 237,188 valid votes and 7,701 invalid votes.

Elections Commission has set up a total of 586 ballot boxes for the second round of the election.
