Newly completed infrastructure projects in Thulhaadhoo island of Baa atoll, have been officially inaugurated.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih inaugurated the completed infrastructure projects in Thulhaadhoo on Tuesday, as part of his ongoing tour of the atoll.
Some of the projects newly inaugurated include the coastal protection project, 100 housing units and the FENAKA office.
The Thulhaadhoo coastal protection project, carried out by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), saw the installation of a geotextile bag revetment measuring 140 meters and a geobag groyne measuring 30 meters.
The 100 housing units construction on the island were completed jointly by Precision Engineering Services Private Limited and Flexin Private Limited.
The housing units feature three-bedroom apartments.
Featuring a lobby, a manager’s room, a meeting room, a guest room and a pantry, the new FENAKA office on Thulhaadhoo island was built as a modern facility.
The incumbent administration has made significant progress in achieving equitable development across all inhabited islands in the island nation, under President Solih’s leadership.
As such, the government has been initiating projects that have been improving the quality of life for island residents nationwide and empowering them to lead dignified lives.
The Maldivian leader has been officially inaugurating several completed projects and services, as part of his campaign tours in a bid for re-election in the fast-approaching Presidential Election, slated for September.
