VP urges everyone to comprehend the meaning of Quranic verses

Vice President Faisal Naseem has emphasized on the significance of researching and understanding the verses of the Holy Qu ran.

He made this remark during his address at the "Mahfal al-Qurani 1445" forum organized by the Islamic University of Maldives (IUM) on Saturday.

During his speech, the Vice President encouraged everyone to strive to comprehend the meaning of Quranic verses when reciting from the holy book.

Vice President Naseem underscored the importance of practicing the beautiful recitation of the Quran according to Tajweed from an early age.

He also stressed on the significance of dedicating time every day to studying and comprehending the meaning of Quranic verses.

In his speech, the Vice President expressed his hope that the "Mahfal al-Qurani" forum would help address some of the challenges associated with teaching the Quran in schools.

The "Mahfal al-Qurani 1445" forum was organized to provide attendees with knowledge and skills in Tajweed and elocution of the Quran. Through this forum, attendees can deepen their understanding and improve their skills in these important aspects of Quranic recitation.

Tajweed refers to the study of the rules governing the correct pronunciation of the Quranic text, while elocution focuses on the art of reciting the Quran in a clear, distinct, and socially acceptable manner.

The event also saw Vice President Naseem presenting plaques of appreciation to the forum's sponsors. The forum is the third of its kind to be held this year.
