Three individuals have been arrested in Villingili island of Gaaf Alif atoll, over the sexual assault of a 22-year-old woman.
Media official at the Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that they received reports of a 22-year-old woman falling victim to sexual assault, some time after sundown on Friday.
Three men were arrested in connection with the case, under a court order.
Arrested were a 20-year-old, a 24-year-old and a 30-year-old.
Further details in connection with the case have not been disclosed yet.
However, further investigations are being conducted.
