Several completed development projects have been inaugurated in Uligan island of Haa Alif atoll.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih inaugurated the projects during his ongoing campaign tour of Haa Alif atoll, as part of his campaign for re-election in the upcoming Presidential election.

Inaugurated in Uligan island on Wednesday were a water and sewerage project, the new powerhouse, and the FENAKA office stationed on the island.

The initiatives were undertaken by the Solih administration in a bid to address challenges faced by the island’s community.

The water and sewerage project was implemented by Static Company Pvt. Ltd.

It aims to address challenges faced by the island community in getting access to clean drinking water and sanitation services.

Further, the newly inaugurated powerhouse on the island features modern facilities and has been established away from the island’s residential area.

The new powerhouse has the capacity to generate 458 Kilowatts of electricity.
