President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has been briefed on the key development needs of Uligan island of Haa Alif atoll.

This was done during a meeting the president held with the island’s council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) on Saturday.

The meeting saw the island’s councilors shedding light on the significance of implementing steps to empower youth, tourism development, and the necessity to swiftly expedite development projects planned for the island.

Discussions also revolved around the need for an upgraded health center, space constraints at the island’s harbor and the need to establish a waste management center.

The meeting also saw WDC members highlighting challenges faced due to space constraints in the office.

Listening to these concerns, the president assured councilors that the government would work in consultations with relevant authorities to tackle the issues.
