Another Maldivian pilgrim has died while performing this year’s Hajj pilgrimage.

RaajjeMV understands that the deceased is Gasim Ibrahim, native to Holhudhoo island of Noonu atoll.

Gasim died in Mecca, Saudi Arabia and is the third Maldivian pilgrim to have passed away while performing this year’s Hajj pilgrimage.

On Friday, Ali Hassan, 72, native of Maaenboodhoo island of Dhaalu atoll passed away while receiving treatment at the Saudi German Hospital in Mecca, at around 06:17pm (Maldives time).

Ali Hassan was in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform this year’s Hajj pilgrimage, through the Maldives Hajj Corporation.

The Hajj Corporation revealed that his final rites took place at the Masjid al-Haram following Asr prayer on Saturday. He was buried at the Maqbarat-ash-Shuhada’ haram in Mecca.

Earlier that day, another Maldivian Hajj pilgrim who went missing was found dead, four days after he went missing.

Mohamed Naseem Ali, 72, native of Maakurathu island of Raa atoll, was discovered dead near Jabal al-Nour, a mountain region in Mecca.
