Several cases linked to traffic accidents were reported to the Maldives Police Service (MPS) in June.
This was revealed by the police institution in its most recent statistics.
As such, the statistics reveal that a total of 140 cases connected to traffic accidents were reported to the authorities in June.
Some of these accidents occurred very recently, of which some were fatal and some left individuals critically injured.
The highest number of cases filed at MPS during June were cases of theft and robbery.
172 cases linked to robbery, theft and break-ins were reported to the authorities in June.
The second highest number of cases are linked to missing property.
116 such cases were submitted to the MPS.
Other cases filed at the police institution include 55 cases of fraud and deceit, 45 cases of violence and 39 cases of damage to property.
Several other cases including sexual assault, domestic violence and forgery were also reported in the past month.
