President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih accepted the recommendations on the future course of action for the Binveriyaa Housing Scheme after discussions with his cabinet of ministers and a thorough evaluation of a paper submitted by the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure.

The ‘Gedhoruveringe’ Committee is tasked with assessing and finalizing a list of individuals eligible for housing flats and land under the incumbent administration's 'Binveriyaa' and 'Gedhoruveriyaa' housing schemes.

The paper requesting approval for the Gedhoruveriyaa Committee's recommendations on proceeding with individuals eligible under the Binveriyaa Housing Scheme, was submitted to the cabinet by the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure.

Further details regarding the decision will be issued by the planning ministry at a later date.

The largest housing initiative undertaken in the country to date, a total of 15,164 applications from 23,088 individuals have been received by the authorities under the Binveriyaa Housing Sheme.

It mirrors Solih administration's commitment to provide housing and securing a life of dignity for all citizens.
