Discussions have been held on potential collaborations for agricultural development between Maldives and Sri Lanka.
The discussions were held as part of Minister of Fisheries, Marine Resources and Agriculture Dr. Hussain Rasheed Hassan’s recent official visit to Sri Lanka.
As part of the official visit, Minister Hussain Rasheed Hassan paid a courtesy call to Minister of Fisheries of Sri Lanka, Douglas Devananda.
During the meeting, the two ministers sat down for discussions regarding potential areas for cooperation in the agricultural sector.
The meeting also saw the Sri Lankan minister requesting the Maldivian government’s support to develop sustainable fisheries.
Further, as part of the visit the Maldivian minister also sat down for extensive discussions with the Minister of Agriculture Mahinda Amaraweera.
During the meeting, Minister Amaraweera touched upon the potential areas for cooperation and collaboration between both countries for the development of agriculture.
