The Road Development Corporation (RDC) has been contracted with two projects.
The Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure contracted the two projects to RDC during a ceremony held at the ministry on Thursday.
The two projects contracted to RDC include the design and build of major roads in Kendhikulhudhoo island of Noonu atoll and the design and build of the harbor road on Filladhoo island of Haa Alif atoll.
Director General of the ministry, Fathimath Shana Farooq signed the contracts on behalf of the government with Managing Director Moosa Ali Manik signing on behalf of RDC.
The Kendhikulhudhoo road development project is valued at MVR 90,894,554.10 and was contracted to be completed within 540 days.
Under the scope of the project, RDC is required to tar roads measuring 3.7 kilometers, establish a water drainage system on the roads as well as install streetlights.
The Filladhoo harbor road development project is valued at MVR 29,860,450.63 and was contracted to be completed within 240 days.
As part of the project, roads measuring 1.1 kilometers will be developed and RDC will also install streetlights.
