Member of Parliament for Faafu Nilandhoo constituency, Abdul Muhsin Hameed (J4) has joined the ruling, Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP).
The MP of F. Nilandhoo, officially joined MDP, during a special ceremony held in Nilandhoo, on Saturday.
The ceremony was held during President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's visit to the island.
The ceremony saw 10 members of MP J4's family sign up for the party, along with 50 others.
During the event, the MP presented the President with all of the forms.
The ceremony was attended by MDP's PG Leader Mohamed Aslam and many MDP members of the parliament.
Welcoming J4 and the new members who joined the party from Nilandhoo, President Solih noted that the new members would help to increase the activities of the party in Nilandhoo.
Additionally, President Solih noted that J4 has always had close ties to both the MDP and the current administration.
The President added that a member of parliament joining MDP is a significant benefit for the party and that this will make it simpler for the administration to carry out its development objectives.
MDP's PG leader, Aslam noted that J4 joining the party at this time is a boost for the party's PG group.
The MP of Faafu Nilandhoo constituency did not belong to any political party until now. He won his seat at the parliament as an independent member.
