The Governor of Yunnan Province of the People's Republic of China, Wang Yubo has paid a courtesy call on President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

The meeting was held at the President's Office on Sunday.

During the meeting, President Solih welcomed Governor Wang and his delegation to the Maldives.

The meeting saw President Solih highlighting the strong bilateral relations between the Maldives and China.

Furthermore, the President held discussions on further enhancing the existing ties between the two countries, focusing on areas such as tourism, education, sports, and agriculture.

President Solih also expressed sincere appreciation for the Chinese government's support in advancing the Maldives' socioeconomic development.

Speaking with the President, Governor Wang expressed interest in collaborating with the Maldives on mutually beneficial initiatives, particularly in the fields of trade and commerce.

Both the President and the Governor expressed confidence in the continued collaboration between the Maldives and China, both bilaterally and on the international stage, to address shared concerns and fortify the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
