Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid is in Hungary on an official visit.
FM Shahid touched down in Budapest on Wednesday.
In a Twitter post following his arrival, the foreign minister expressed confidence that his visit to Hungary would bring the two countries closer and maximize the bilateral collaboration between Maldives and Hungary, as well as cooperation in the multilateral fora.
As part of the visit, FM Shahid will be meeting with his counterpart, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Péter Szijjártó to engage in discussions.
The discussions will revolve around ways to further strengthen the already robust relations between the Maldives and Hungary.
FM Shahid will also be exchanging views with his Hungarian counterpart regarding issues of mutual concern.
Further, FM Shahid will meet with the Vice President of the Hungarian Parliament, Csaba Hende alongside several other senior government officials.
During these meetings, the Maldivian minister will explore further avenues of cooperation between Maldives and Hungary.
