The Government of the Republic of Maldives and the Government of the Republic of Serbia have signed four key agreements.
The agreements were signed during the ongoing official visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives, Abdulla Shahid, to Serbia, on Tuesday.
The agreements signed between the Government of Maldives and the Government of the Republic of Serbia include:
- Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Maldives and the Government of the Republic of Serbia on Trade, Investment and Economic Cooperation
- Air Services Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Maldives and the Government of the Republic of Serbia
- Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives on Cooperation in the field of Diplomatic Education
- Memorandum of Understanding in the Field of Sports between the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment of the Republic of Maldives and the Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Serbia
Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the conclusion of the agreements will not only increase the cooperation in areas such as sports, trade, and people to people connection, but it is also a testament to the growing bilateral relations between the two countries.
The Maldivian minister arrived in Belgrade, Serbia, on Monday evening.
His visit to Serbia is from May 8 – 10.
Taking to Twitter following his arrival in Serbia, FM Shahid expressed confidence that the visit would be an instrumental milestone in solidifying the partnership between Maldives and Serbia.
