The harbor development project in Maalhos island of Alif Alif atoll is well underway.
Taking to Twitter on Saturday, the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) highlighted the progress of the work being conducted under the harbor development project in Maalhos.
As such, MTCC noted that the fifth shipment of rock boulders required for the harbor development project has been delivered to the project site.
Currently ongoing at the site are jetty beam shuttering work, according to the company.
Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to carry out dredging and excavation operations in an area measuring 24,335 cubic meters.
The company was also contracted to construct a quay wall measuring 394 meters, a 407-meter breakwater, a groyne measuring 56 meters as well as a revetment measuring 100 meters.
Further, the scope of the project also includes the development of a harbor pavement measuring 1,970 square meters.
MTCC was contracted the project to design and build Maalhos harbor by the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure back in November 2020.
The project is valued at MVR 61.3 million.
