MVR 1.5 billion spent on PSIP

The Maldivian Government has spent MVR 1.5 billion on PSIP by 09 March 2023

The Maldivian Government has spent MVR 1.5 billion on Public Sector Investment Programs (PSIP), by 09 March 2023.

According to the statistics publicized by the Ministry of Finance, the highest expenditure was made on road development and land reclamation projects. As such, the state has so far spent MVR 403.3 million on this sector; with MVR 212.4 million on road development projects and MVR 191 million on land reclamation projects.

Additionally, the state has so far spent MVR 370.2 million on projects related to the transport sector. As such, MVR 264.4 million was spent on harbor development projects and MVR 33.3 million has been spent on airport development projects during this time frame. MVR 72.3 million has been spent on bridge development projects.

Ministry's statistics show that MVR 155.3 million has been spent on housing and infrastructure projects.

Additionally, MVR 55.3 million has been spent on general administration projects.

The government has spent MVR 148.1 million on water and sewerage development projects. This includes MVR 72.6 million on installation of water and sewerage systems in islands, MVR 52.9 million spent on water systems and MVR 22.7 million spent on sewerage system installation.

Ministry's statistics goes on to reveal that MVR 93.4 million has been spent on the education sector.

While MVR 72.5 million has been spent on coastal protection projects, MVR 10.7 million was spent on waste management projects.

Statistics also shows that MVR 75 million was spent on the social and religious services. As such, MVR 9.8 million has been spent on mosques.

Furthermore, MVR 22.5 million was spent on health sector development projects.

The Maldivian Government's expenditure currently sits at MVR 8.2 billion according to the Finance Ministry.
