Ministers of Maldives and India notes the successful economic cooperation of the two countries
Both Ministers exchanged views and shared their visions relating to development cooperation

The visiting Minister of External Affairs of India, Dr. S. Jaishankar has met Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives, Abdulla Shahid and held bilateral talks.
The meeting was held in Noonu Manadhoo on Wednesday.
During the meeting, the Maldivian Minister and his counterpart had comprehensive and in-depth discussions.
As such, the Ministers reflected on the historic relationship between both countries and expressed commitment on furthering cooperation in priority areas.
The meeting also saw both Ministers noting the successful economic cooperation and the progress of projects that is being implemented under Indian grant assistance and line of credit schemes.
Additionally, both Ministers exchanged views and shared their visions relating to development cooperation, tourism cooperation, human resource development, multilateral engagements, and consular affairs between both countries.
The Maldivian Minister expressed gratitude to the Government of India for the constant support to facilitate and further develop economic, trade and investment ties between both countries, and for India’s commitment in the socioeconomic development of the Maldives.
Minister Dr. Jaishankar is on a two-day official visit to the Maldives, in keeping with the renewed tradition of high-level exchanges between the two countries.
He arrived in the Maldives on Wednesday Afternoon, landing in Noonu Maafaru Airport.
