Maldives ready to implement outcomes agreed upon during official talks with Cambodia: FM

The Cambodian PM arrived in the Maldives on Sunday and will conclude his trip on January 17

The government of Maldives is ready to implement all the outcomes agreed upon during the official talks held with the government of Cambodia, says Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid.

The Maldivian foreign minister said this during a meeting he held on Monday with the Prime Minister of Cambodia, Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen as part of his ongoing official visit to the Maldives.

The meeting was held at Paradise Island Resort.

The Cambodian PM is in Maldives at an official invitation from President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

Welcoming the Cambodian PM to Maldives, FM Shahid reaffirmed the view of the Maldivian government that both countries can pursue closer cooperation on all aspects of bilateral relations as well as regionally and internationally.

Further, FM Shahid highlighted that the agreements signed on Monday will be mutually beneficial to both the people of Maldives and Cambodia.

He noted that the Visa Exemption Agreement will increase cooperation in the future and will allow enhanced people-to-people contact.

The Maldivian minister went on to state that Maldives stands ready to implement the outcomes agreed upon by the Maldivian president and the Cambodian PM during the official talks held as part of the visit.

The Cambodian PM arrived in the Maldives on Sunday and will conclude his trip on January 17.
