An initiative of the Ministry of Fisheries, Marine Resources, and Agriculture, the expo was held in Faresmaathoda island of Gaaf Dhaal atoll as part of the official celebrations held to mark the 42nd fishermen’s day.

It also comes in line with the incumbent administration’s efforts to further develop and promote the fisheries sector.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, who is in the island to join the festivities of the day, also toured the expo, where he visited the stands and inquired about the products and services featured.

The president launched some new products introduced by the Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company Ltd. (MIFCO) and Horizon Fisheries.
