The harbor developed in Dharanboodhoo island is one of the most convenient and spacious harbors in the whole atoll, says the island council.

The island council made this remark during a meeting with President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Sunday.

As such, the island council and Women’s Development Committee (WDC) members met the president at the President’s Office.

Dharanboodhoo councilors described the harbor developed on the island by the incumbent administration as one of the most convenient and spacious harbors in the whole atoll and stated that it was a testament to the administration’s policy of ensuring equitable development across the island nation.

The meeting saw discussions revolving around Dharanboodhoo community’s development plans and the pertinent needs.

A project to develop the island’s sewerage system is currently underway.

The island council also shed light on the need to develop a community center and for approval for the island’s land-use plan.

President Solih was also briefed on the budget constraints, the shortage of space at the school and the need to expand the healthcare center.

The meeting also saw the members of the WDC sharing their concerns related to space and financial constraints.

Listening to these concerns, President Solih shared the latest details of the development plans for the island and assured the councilors that the administration remains committed to find amicable solutions to the concerns raised at the meeting.
