The Boat Beaching Area Project in Velidhoo island of Noonu atoll is well underway.

The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) revealed that they have delivered the third shipment of rock boulders required for the project, to the project site on Tuesday.

MTCC went on to reveal that the breakwater bed preparation component has also been completed.

Schedule to begin next is the breakwater profiling work.

Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to carry out land reclamation operations of 1.5 hectares and level 138,247 square meters of the reclaimed area.

The company will also be constructing a revetment measuring 214 meters and a 100-meter breakwater.

The Velidhoo Boat Beaching Area Project is valued at MVR 19.4 million.

The Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure contracted the project to MTCC on 6 April 2021.

The project was contracted to be completed within 280 days.
