Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid has expressed confidence that the relationship between Maldives and Iraq will continue to prosper under the Iraqi Foreign Minister, Fuad Mohammed Hussein’s tenure.
Following his re-appointment to the new cabinet of Iraq, FM Shahid extended a congratulatory message to the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq on Saturday.
Conveying his heartfelt congratulations on the Iraqi minister’s re-appointment as the Minister for Foreign Affairs, and the designation as Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Iraq.
He added that his re-appointment and prominence within the leadership is an affirmation of his crucial role in promoting Iraq’s interests and stature in regional and international fora.
With this, he expressed confidence that the ties of friendship and close cooperation between the two countries will continue to expand and flourish during his tenure.
FM Shahid expressed keen interest to work closely with the Iraqi FM to further strengthen the close friendship bonded in Islamic unity and went on to express hope for lasting peace, success and prosperity for the Iraqi people.
The Maldivian minister ended his message by offering the assurances of his highest consideration, and offering his best wishes for his Iraqi counterpart’s good health and well-being.
