President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih attended some matches of Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Maldives Challenge 2022.
President Solih attended the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Maldives Challenge 2022 matches held on Sunday. These included the final match of the challenge as well.
He also attended the closing ceremony of the tournament.
The tournament was jointly organized by the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, The International Volleyball Federation and Volleyball Association of Maldives.
The tournament was held from 13 October to 16 October at Sun Island Resort & Spa.
The Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Maldives Challenge 2022 is the highest-ranked sporting event hosted in the Maldives. The tournament featured world-class players from 28 countries.
Promoting the Maldives as a destination for international sporting events was a Presidential pledge. The main goal of this pledge is to give Maldivian national sports teams the opportunity to compete against international athletes while also promoting the Maldives as a sports tourism destination.
This is the sixth international competition being held in the Maldives this year.
